Fi-NY was in for a surprise when Managing Director Justin Schantz rounded up the troops for another highly anticipated, top-secret social outing. To compliment our previous poker-nights, in-house-parties, movie-nights and comedy shows we decided to mix things up a bit and take a shot at mechanical bull riding.

Fi-NY had no choice but to close-shop early and head uptown to Johnny Utah’s at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan for a night full of great food, drinks and of course – a massive mechanical bull. Our fearless leader, David, made sure no man was left behind; encouraging every single Fi’r to hop on with two objectives: beat the bull and be the last one standing. Bets were placed and laughs were had both with and at each other.

When I started at Fi, I can truthfully admit I never expected to be riding a mechanical bull. Then again, I am learning team building takes many different shapes and forms – this instance being a series of bruises.

I can’t wait to see what else is in store for us! Until then, any suggestions for our next outing?

I have never seen such a company having this kind of entertainment. Feeling proud of FI employees, hope this might come true in my life atleast once or lifelong in my design career.

What are they doing going out and partying? They should be in the office working on the new site so it doesn't get delayed again.

Ok, it's your fault!
There I was happily moving along in my career deluding myself that I was fulfilled in everyway. I thought the usual nine to five was the norm; the occasional boredom was acceptable and basically doing the same work every day was just the way it is.
Until I started visiting this damn site and company. Pictures and video of employees enjoying themselves; kick butt projects to work on; thought provoking finished work to admire and praise. This company and it's employess just ooze an addictive honesty that make you realise there is life out there after all. Maybe FI is the last bastion of an ideal working model that has yet to be equaled or adopted.

Until now I thought I was unhappy; now I know I am seriously miserable.

Thanks FI !

@Rik Dude, go play some soccer and be happy! FI shows us that by mastering the tools, by having complete (or close to complete) understanding in your area of expertise and tons of hard work you too could enjoy such a working model. Being miserable sucks!

This is a the image of SUCCESS! This is what you do after you have completed the Fi site. Now that you are done, can someone tell Koakim to answer my freakin questions about the Flahs Height issue he so happily posted on this blog and lack the sense to follow up on. Ok Venting has ended. In other news - I still have my Pop corn ready and waiting. Who's your best Wii player Fi? I bet we can take him/her on in a game of Mario Kart? And DHM you never said what kind of car you drove.

@Sebastian - Thanks for your comments. I couldn't agree more.

Clearly my post that was dripping with sarcasm and irony that I used to express my admiration for FI went over some peoples heads. I have a very dry wit.
;-)

...I'm still sitting here waiting to admire the next installment of the FI story. I feel I am not alone.

Peace.

WHERE DA FU(K IS THE NEW Fi SITE?
17. Kenneth     Spain,   Thu  1/May/2008
When 2A updated their site they used a cool flash countdown and the site launched RIGHT ON TIME!
18. Max     NZ,   Thu  1/May/2008
@Kenneth, calm down already!!

I've noticed that theres a temp holding page up prior to the launch of the site, I'm hoping that the level and standard of your html and css coding has dramatically increased as viewing the source code of the holding page is very concerning.

@Max, I agree, their code makes me confused. *cough* tables *cough*
