We are happy to announce that our Porsche Cayenne GTS site already won an FWA award!

As one of Fi’s Senior Designers, I will share some behind the scenes videos that I created especially for thinkswedish.com. The focus is on the retouching of the images for the site. With my PSD files open, I will go deep into the layers to show the photographs before and after. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

That's the image of great skills \, and perfect retouch ! Great job Anton !

These videos are very interesting and I would like to see more behind the scenes (PS) stuff.
7. Max     New Zealand,   Wed  6/Feb/2008
Ok everyone, please get over it! The Nintendo blog post has been removed for a reason, it seem severyone here wants to jump to their own concluions (mostly negative) straight away. FI have their reasons so stop acting like a bunch of spoilt kids and be grateful that FI has produced this blog and allowed the public to see behind the scenes of their work!! What I really hate is that this blog started off so poitive and everyone was enjoying each post and contributing positively, now recently its taken a few bad eggs to real spoil alot what FI has given back to us the public. I recommend those who just want to put a sour note on everything grow up or find another blog.

Although the Porsche site isn't one of my favorite Fi sites, I really enjoyed watching the behind the scenes. You've great retouching skills Anton, the final photo's look amazing compared to the originals!
Thnx for the videos, looking forward to see more of them.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.
I am really happy that you found my videos interesting and learned from that! Great!

@Max, I agree with you on letting go of the Nintendo blog. You cannot truly expect all positives. Unless you live in some sort of fairyland. It takes both to make you strong my friend. You need the negatives to gather and collect data, valuable data. This can hone in on weaknesses and help you to see loop holes. While the positives balance out the equation. What I would rather see is if you have a comment that does not reflect the nature of the work - keep it to yourselves and the ones that are negative and does relate share it, but with explanations and suggestions. That the true purpose of a blog. Fi has nothing to fear. They're doing what they do best - we expect too much of them.

Anton,
Your brilliant with the magic wand my friend.
15. Max     Toronto, Canada,   Wed  6/Feb/2008
Great video. It was very inspirational to see that the provided images for the project aren't picture-perfect at all, even for a large scale agency. All the magic reaally happens in photoshop. Thanks.

Thank you so much for your time, effort to share years of intutition and hard work...
thank you
17. Dormauz     Portugal,   Thu  7/Feb/2008
This was a great insight about "there are no perfect conditions", even for FI.
Thanks for the movies Anton! I still want to make a you question: How much time did you take for each composition? Is just to get a feel of how much time you spent only in this compositions, only in design, beeing design a part of a huge process with different times for each skill sets

Keep up the good work!
FI rules :D

Nice work Anton, thanks for sharing your skills with us.
19. Anton     Stockholm,   Fri  8/Feb/2008
To Dormauz: it’s hard to say how much time I spent on each component. I can say that retouching took a lot of time, Cayenne for example about 6 hours, Carrera took only 3 hours, Cayman took almost 2-3 days (but it had 3 different version of retouching). Between that I was making the rest of the site, other sections, interior, preloading screen, map…
20. Rocky     DC,   Fri  8/Feb/2008
what a great site, i spent an hour on it going through all the details.
21. Dormauz     Portugal,   Tue  12/Feb/2008
To be honest I´m pretty curious; why retouch images, and not use "the official" porche photos, for a higher starter...even if you wanted to changed them a bit, guess would be quicker. And I´m really curious about the reasons why. My guess was, FI would have is own photo session...guess was wrong :) But hey Anton, I loved the website, and the images are awesome, and they turned into a 6 video tutorial, with lots of cool tips.

22. David     London, England,   Fri  15/Feb/2008
Nothing new to add but this was a great insight into the process of producing polished graphics for the web, good work!!!!
23. Dmitri     Newport Beach, California,   Fri  15/Feb/2008
Great work Anton - I do the same things you do, so we're on the same page.....I've been to Fi NYC, met everyone; didn't have a chance to meet you, but anyways, great job buddy!
24. Hauff     Brazil,   Thu  20/Mar/2008
Anton, congrats for the site and for the SOTD from FWA. It really deserves all the prizes. I´ll wait anxiously for the next videos on how do you do your work. Be sure that I´ve already learned a lot from this firsts videos. Regards from Brazil!
25. Morpain     Copenhagen, DK,   Sat  29/Mar/2008
I've just spent 40 minutes watching all the vids in this entry, and i must say that I was hooked from frame 1. Great insight, great retouching and a beautiful result in the end. Congrats!
26. Pavel Amosov     Riga, Latvia,   Wed  16/Apr/2008
Great retouch. The great thing is that the cars looksrather natural, not like made of plastic :)
27. ijansempoi     malaysia,   Mon  12/May/2008
Very usefull information, thanks for sharing!
28. Eric     Boston,   Sun  1/Jun/2008
I have always wanted to see actual walk-thru's from the pro's....see exactly how they do their work. These were great to watch and see what really goes into it from the PS side. I wish you went a little more in depth about how your masking or cutting/pasting stuff...actually show you doing a few examples...its a little harder to understand when you just turn stuff off and on....maybe talk about what some of the color tools do.

thanks again
29. Taher     Pixar Land,   Mon  16/Jun/2008
Hey great vid anton!. I really agree with #28 can you go little more in depth how did you copy/paste and really most imporatant thing how did you combine 2 photo's together to get one wide photo, and ya forgot! what kind of wacom tablet do you use? size? and which type.

Thanks! You are great
#1 FI on top!
